The other day I was having drinks with a friend who had recently enrolled in college classes. I told my friend I was jealous of her. Not because she was taking classes. I can do that. But because she has the ability to sit in a classroom with 18-year-olds without resorting to homicide. I cannot do that.

If you’re like me, the idea of education is very appealing, but the idea of going to school maybe isn’t. Which is why online classes exist.

Free Education. Come Get Your Free Education.

Today, Lifehacker put out a list of online classes that are starting up in fall 2014. These are real, actual college classes. And they are FREE.

So what, maybe you’re saying. I own a business. I don’t need to take some class on Greek heroes, or video games.

Fair enough. But how about a course on Diagnosing the Financial Health of a Business?

Or a course on Social Entrepreneurship?

Or How to Build a Startup?

Or for those of us who sit on our asses all day, Food, Nutrition and Your Health, or how to incorporate playing into everyday life.

Or for those of us with our heads on straight, an introduction to wines.

Education All Year Round

These are real classes with real start and end dates, which might not work for you. If there’s something that interests you, keep it on your radar for next semester. Or look to education that is available year-round.

Lifehacker makes sure to include in its post a list of resources for free education that isn’t built around a college semester. It includes courses from Academic Earth, Khan Academy, The Saylor Foundation and more.

Check out the post, and find something that interests you. Education makes you a better person, and free online classes have the ability to make you a better business owner, as well.
