Increase your traffic with this daily blogging checklist
I came across a daily blogging checklist on Pinterest the other day that I think is too good not to share.
It’s from a post published by the food blog Amuse Your Bouche (yes, I know that sounds dirty, but an amuse-bouche is just a tiny appetizer, you perv), and it gives some great suggestions on what you should be doing every day to promote your blog.
How to Get Your Blog Seen?
We humans are inundated with a steady flow of information all damn day, so no matter how great your blog is, you still have to put in serious daily work to make sure it stays on people’s minds.
How do you do this? Social media, email marketing, engaging with other bloggers — for a start. But specifically, how do you do this?
Follow The Checklist Every Day
That’s what the checklist below aims to answer. It’s not complete, by any means — there are dozens of ways to get your blog in front of folks.
But what’s great about the list is it gives you a very specific starter plan for promoting not only new blog posts, but older posts, as well. That’s right: you need to keep those old blog posts working for you by continuously introducing them to your ever-growing blog readership.
Of course, you’ll want to tailor the list to your specific social sharing needs. If you’re not on Pinterest, for example, but on Linked In instead, 1) post a link to your fresh blog post (or old one), 2) comment on posts from three Linked In connections, and 3) join a conversation on at least one Linked In group you belong to.
Or whatever. You get the point.
Always Be Testing
As you get into a habit of doing these things for your blog, you’ll start to get an idea of what is working for you, and what isn’t.
If something isn’t working for you, if after a couple of months, you’re not seeing any significant traffic from, say, Stumble Upon, stop wasting your time with that channel. You can try a different avenue, or devote more time to existing networks.
The List
So, here’s the list. A printable version can be found at Amuse Your Bouche. Check out the blog for more blogging tips, which writer Becca posts every Tuesday.
