Why it's crucial to find a website builder for responsive design
When we were working on the redesign of the Buildicus app, one of the things we knew we had to make a big deal about was responsive web design.
Maybe you’ve heard it called mobile-friendly design, or mobile usability. No matter what you call it, it is huge deal. Essentially, it’s what makes a website look good and function properly on all devices.
Why Responsive Design?
Gone are the days when people saved their Internet searches solely for their PCs. Mobile phones and tablets are steadily becoming more important to consumers and, by association, to small business owners.
Check out these ridiculously persuasive statistics via Televox:
"94% of smartphone owners look for local information on their phone. It’s great for national brands to have mobile-friendly sites, but the even greater value lies among local businesses."
Okay, so they’re looking for information on their smartphones, but how does that help your business? Glad you asked.
"70% of the people searching for a product or service on mobile will buy in the near future. So more than two-thirds of these searchers are ready to take action ASAP."
People are looking for information because they want to buy, and if your website is mobile-friendly, you definitely have a leg up on the competition. Peep this:
"Less than 5% of online businesses have a website that is compatible with mobile."
Less than 5% of businesses are set up for mobile searches, you guys. Less than 5%. Therefore, if you have a website that is set up with responsive design, you’re gold, Pony Boy.
And if you don’t, read on.
Buildicus: Your Website Builder for Responsive Design
As I mentioned at the top of this post, responsive web design was a big deal for us as we redesigned the Buildicus app.
We already made sure that all sites created with Buildicus are mobile-friendly. But with the redesign, we wanted to make sure customers could see exactly what their sites looked like on various mobile devices as they built their sites.
Just click the responsive icons on the top of the page, and see what your customers will see as they peruse your site while on the toilet waiting for the bus. Cool, right?
What are your experiences with mobile design? How often have you searched for information on your phone only to be thwarted by an unresponsive site?
